Nimbus POS was born in Nakuru, Kenya, from a real problem. We saw agrovet owners, hardware shops, and retail businesses struggling with outdated systems — paper ledgers, basic spreadsheets, or expensive foreign POS solutions that didn't understand how Kenyan businesses operate.

We built our first version for a local agrovet. It needed to handle M-Pesa payments seamlessly, track fertilizer bags with FIFO inventory, manage customer credit (because that's how business works here), and provide real profit margins — not just revenue numbers.

But we didn't just build features — we built a partnership. We sat with the shop owner, watched how they worked, and asked: “What do you want your POS to do for you?” The answer shaped everything: receipt printer integration for customer receipts, optional ETIMS invoices for those who need KRA compliance, and a mobile app so they could check stock from the warehouse. It wasn't a cookie-cutter solution. It was their POS.

That first system worked so well that other businesses started asking for it. We realized that the problems we solved weren't unique to agrovets — every SME in Kenya faces the same challenges. So we turned our proven system into Nimbus POS: a platform any business can use.

Today, Nimbus POS serves businesses across Kenya — from agrovets in Nakuru to electronics shops in Kisumu, hardware stores in Nairobi, and pharmacies in Eldoret. And we're just getting started.
